I have reached the point where I can honestly say I am burned out by politics. Very possibly, the last time I vote at all will be in the coming 2008 Presidential Primaries; being I will be voting in the Texas Primary in January (or is it February?) and being neither affiliated with the Democrats nor the Republicans, in Texas it doesn't matter...an independent can vote either for a Republican or a Democrat. Well, I've never voted for a Republican before (not to say I always vote Democrat...in fact I almost never vote in primaries!), but in 2008 I am most assuredly voting for Ron Paul, who is the ONLY candidate who gives a crap about the US economy, financial and fiscal responsibility, and upholding our Constitution...and yes, he's been consistently anti-war. Actually, the war issue isn't even that tantamount in my humble opinion, but the economy is, and responsibility is. The war issue flows from the economics issue: the US can no longer afford empire, and can no longer afford to be a drunken sailor when it comes to selling our future down the road. But the nagging feeling is that THEY, the oligarchs who run this country, won't allow Paul to win the Republican nomination. THEY have set the United States on a course to ruin, either through implosion of empire or through that device known as the North American Union, with the "amero" as currency (which is another issue Paul will try to do his best to confront if elected President). Assuming he will not get the Republican nomination, that will probably be the last time I vote for anyone in national elections, because I have committed myself to never again voting for the "lesser of two evils." So, though I will from time to time coment on US domestic politics, this site is not about political punditry. |

Nor am I an expert in economics, stock markets, commodities, futures, options, derivatives, hedge funds, "plunge protection", the housing bust, the destruction of the dollar, the Federal Reserve (which, BTW, IS A PRIVATELY OWNED BANK!), corporate leveraged buy-outs, and the like. But I do know one thing, by what I am observing in the news: because I have chosen to live far away from financial centers, shopping venues, the "rat race" and the rest of a most stressful life, I and those around me will be able to weather the coming meltdown of society better than most. Those who can't learn to do without, who won't learn responsible stewardship of resources, who won't learn to do with what one has and keep a store of what one absolutely will need just in case (such as spare gasoline, stored food, an emergency electric generator, stored water, etc.), and those who refuse to give up the idea that "THEY" will keep on giving you your "entitlements" (and by that I mean Social Security and Medicare), will learn and will do eventually--or blow their brains out. And even if the worst never happens...you know the truth is always somewhere in the middle, but I say hope for the best and prepare for the worst...I will still live without much stress, I will still have birds singing, trees and grass and plants growing, and clean water and clean air and a sense of control over my life. And people pretty much leaving me alone. |

The 70% who believes what they see on TV and the mainstream media...the great unwashed masses who consume, spend, sit on their couches in their 2,000 square foot homes they'll never pay off, live in constant fear of "something" because the media tells them it has to be that way, and consume some more blissfully unaware that the game has always been rigged against them by THOSE who created the game in the first place after the American Revolution (yep, most of the Founding Fathers!); the 70% who would never consider leaving the cities and suburbs, and could never hope to be able to make it out here in the rural/remote because they haven't learned how and do not want to learn how...well, this site is not for you. Just keep on surfing by. I have nothing to sell you, so move along. It is the 30% remnant, the ones who see danger coming but can LIVE WITHOUT FEAR, the ones who see that the necessary REVOLUTION will NOT BE VIOLENT, will not be some idiot "insurrection against THEM", will not be some fool "mass demonstrations" for crumbs form the oligarchy's tables, will not involve armed struggle, and will not be playing THEIR GAME. In fact, the REVOLUTION will likely leave THEM out of it, as well as the masses who refuse to leave THEIR GAME (but, of course, the masses are welcome as long as they are willing to put up with hard work and STOP BEING SO DAMNED LAZY!) |

So, for you 30%-ers, here is the game, summed up in the immortal phrase spoken by Phineas Farnsworth to Pas Patout in "Around the World in 80 Days": "Use what you have got, and you won't need what you have not." Because the days of having not are near at hand. |

And anyway, as for dissing any kind of armed struggle, I speak from experience with having taken part in a political-economic reform movement that started out benignly but ended up as a money-laundering and weapons-smuggling illegal (and immoral) scam that called itself the "Republic of Texas" and ended in an armed standoff about a mile from my house. By that time I was out of it completely and had publically disavowed any support for it, which led to my being deposed by the State of Texas and which led to death threats afterwards. Movements such as this tend to be led by megalomaniacs like Rick McLaren and staffed by folks who want something for nothing like those who followed him to destruction (one of them, Michael Matson, was shot dead by Texas Law Enforcement in the mountains behind McLaren's "Republic of Texas Embassy," and another, Richard Keyes, managed to escape but months later was picked up near Houston...and all of the survivors will likely spend the rest of their lives in jail--what a waste!). FOLKS, THIS IS NOT THE WAY TO GO! THE ONLY WAY TO GO IS TO GET OUT OF THEIR GAME! The place to get out of their game is a place where "they" don't necessarily control everything: your own land which is paid for (yes, I know you still have property taxes), your own food which you grow and your own livestock which you raise yourself, and your own water well outside the boundaries of county water boards and water meters. Plus, a vehicle or two without car payments, and little if no credit card debt, and NO MORTGAGE! The ONLY way to get out of their game is in learning to live without, because in learning to live without you learn to live WITHOUT THEM! |

I am Deborah Lagarde, and, having had blogs and webzines in the past several years on the internet, as well as having lived out here in the rural/remote for 25 years, having taught my kids at home and still doing it, and having learned their is no joy but much justification for killing grasshoppers and other pests in the garden with my bare hands, this is my effort to educating the remnant...and hoping the 70% will get off their lazy butts and do likewise! |
