More About Secession

I realize the notion that around one-fifth of Americans could favor secession of their state from the United States might have been a bit heavy even for my readers! Folks, this is a heavy topic! Nor do I necessarily favor secession: having been once associated, mostly by friendship-- and, yes, I'll admit, by his ability to charismatically brainwash--with original "Republic of Texas" leader Rick McLaren, who lived about a mile from my house, and having seen the results (what amounted to nothing more than a money laundering scheme, but with one that took two people hostage in their home, and other threats which never materialized, INCLUDING A DEATH THREAT AGAINST YOURS TRULY!), I can honestly say I would only back a secession of Texas under the most extraordinary of circumstances. I would only back such a move if the leadership of this movement were bent on restoring true freedom, including ending income taxation, ending Texas's evil system of incarceration and ending the death penalty, ending the Trans-Texas Corridor and all ties to the "new world order," and restoring the rule of law to end abuses of the system against those who due to their lack of wealth and connections are most likely to suffer these abuses. I would not back secession if--as is most likely, because those leading such a movement are power seekers, after all--Texas were substituting one set of oppressors for another, as would have happened under McLaren's movement had it succeeded. McLaren was a charismatic megalomaniac who, had he just stuck with trying to set things right in our mountain subdivison, would have been called a hero. But no. He had to seek more and more power (and especially money!), thus came up with the money-laundering scheme (with another group of money launderers known as the "Washitaw Nation", a CIA front if there ever was one! ROT operative "White Eagle" Otto, a phony "Metis" Indian, actually called the "ROT Embassy" the "washateria"!) disguised as a secession movement to free Texas from the "new world order" machinations of the Clinton administration. Actually, McLaren might have done some good had he stuck to this noble end, but, as I said, a little power corrupted him greatly. But that might be expected for that very rare man who had absolutely no sex drive (his "common law" wife, Evelyn Horak, even admitted as such, to her own frustrations. And McLaren's first wife wound up being a mistress to another resident out here just for that reason. Let's just say power was sex to McLaren).

So let me just state right here and now that, as any political movement for change is likely to be corrupted or at least co-opted...in fact, of all the "political" "friends" I've had over the years, 100% of them have been co-opted!...and secession movements are included in this analysis, I could support the idea of secession, but would only support a movement for secession under extraordinary circumstances. I've seen it time and time again: any idealistic person who suddenly finds himself with a little power and money to back it up WILL become either corrupted or co-opted or both. Because power and money DO CORRUPT EVEN THE BEST OF US, that is another reason why I say get out of the system. As much as I like the opinions of Constitutionalist writer Devvy Kidd, I wholeheartly disagree with her stance that the system must be changed so that the Constitution again becomes the supreme law of the land. I say the system is broken, cannot be fixed, and must be scrapped. And I say this as someone who DID TRY TO FIX the system, especially in Jeff Davis County, Texas, where I live. Twice, in fact. I even tried to get on the ballot for Justice of the Peace here. Besides, due to my association with McLaren, I will never again get the opportunity to try to change the system from within because too many clueless and mostly apathetic citizens here will be told by TPTB: "she's a friend of McLaren, so don't vote for her" or "she's one of those ROT'ers." I wasn't really and I'm not now...but folks, there is only so much willfull ignorance I want to put up with, so I insist on saying "CHANGE OUTSIDE THE SYSTEM UNTIL THE SYSTEM COLLAPSES." And I personally think it won't be long before that happens. I can't help it anymore than I already have. Many people will be ruined, and that is not a good feeling and is too bad, especially for the children, but I can't help it anymore. Either the system collapses now or eventually (because you can't sustain bleeding the poor and middle class as with squeezing blood out of a turnip), or it collapses under martial law, and, as I've said before, when the gloves come off, all bets of peaceful change are--God I hate this cliche!--"off the table." It'll be cute to see various oligarchs bidding on Blackwater's services, and other merc operatives off-ing their employers when these ops get better offers elsewhere. Just how stupid are these "illuminists", thinking mercenaries will guard their warm fuzzy asses for a couple of hundred thou a year? Not for a couple of million even! A billion? Well, maybe. If I was a mercenary risking my life for a scumbag, a billion wouldn't be enough. But anyway...

The Middlebury Institute site is now back up. The Middlebury Institute run by Kirkpatrick Sale sponsored that Zogby poll about secession, and is the foremost think tank on the issue of secession in the US. They list several pro-seccession groups (with links) on their site if you want to check them out. They also sponsored a secession convention this year and last. The thing is, even if decent-sized minority of Americans are pissed off enough to consider secession, as I said before this is a heavy matter. One, at least 25% of Americans are employed in the Federal government somewhere: for instance, Fish and Game, National Park, the military, Border Patrol, FEMA, yada yada yada. Two, about 25% of Americans are dependent on the Feds for income purposes: the elderly on Social Security, retired vets on their benefits, the poor on welfare/food stamps/Medicaid, aid to dependent children, etc. Then you have state and municipal employees dependent on Federal largess for their programs. Folks, this includes every public school teacher and public college professor in the country! I would say that 25% would again approach the ratio of Americans in this group. Thus, perhaps only 25% of Americans ARE NOT SOMEHOW DEPENDENT ON THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT! Maybe this is why a number such as nearly 20% of Americans would favor secession might be as high as it will get...unless a complete collapse occurs, of course. So, though this statistic might be exciting news, it would be a good idea not to get hopes up too much.

Just to reprise what broght up the subject of seccession... This is what I posted in the previous newsletter.

Actually, a couple of days ago...but I came across this piece at Mark Parent's invaluable Crimes and Corruption of the New World Oder Newssite: this Zogby Poll found out that nearly half of Americans believe the political system is broken and CANNOT BE FIXED! This poll, by a reputable pollster (the actually poll is here). The sample size is about 1200 American adults via phone poll, and the margin of error was + or - 2.9 percent. I think that this number is remarkable, for two reasons: one, the MSM constantly brays about the Obama vs. McCain farce-race to the point that if you watch much TV you must turn the political nonsense off at some point to save your sanity; two, because there has been no evidence up until now that the whole "land of the free, home of the brave" mantra is wearing thin. Does that mean that the 44 percent who belive this will refuse to vote this November? But the most REMARKABLE thing in this poll, sponsored by the Middlebury Institute, is that almost 20 percent WOULD FAVOR SECESSION OF THEIR STATE!!! The numbers highest for secession are in the South (naturally!) but also in the (drum roll please!) the East! Folks, Americans really, really ARE MAKING PROGRESS! Finally! I think the fact that this is proof Americans are finally and truly waking up is cause for celebration! However, don't get too giddy, because it turns out that the group most likely to favor secession is Hispanics. Aztlan, anyone? Not on my watch! Young people, of course, or more likely to favor it. But the most interesting thing is that folks with LESS education are more likely to favor it. (Does that prove that what we call "education" maybe isn't true education?) But STILL...what with public school propaganda about how wonderful Lincoln was to force the Confederacy back into the Union and how wonderful Grant and Hayes were to rob the South blind during Reconstruction, to the point where you couldn't leave public school without hating secession, WE REALLY ARE MAKING PROGRESS! Congratulations, America!
