Totally Random, II |

|

Sorry about the overuse of the title "Totally Random" but I have no idea what else to call this hodgepodge of which I post today. |

For one thing, I delight to know that at least one of my subscribers is paying attention even when I'm not. A subscriber named Lee gave me a great suggestion on how to improve my posts: break up the paragraphs better, they are too long! Lee is right, and I am going to try to live up to Lee's expectations, especially since I do consider myself a writer. |

We have squash coming out the kazoo in our garden...and what with using all those jars from the back of the yard we have none to can with...so I am having to freeze the excess. Froze five bags of zucchini a few days ago, following precise instructions from my canning-freezing manual. Cook the squash for three minutes--four or five if you live at 5,000 feet or more--and then blanche it until it is cool. The best way to blanche is not using ice...the best way is to dump the cooked squash into a collander, then open the tap on your faucet and let 'er rip, until all the squash is cool. Works for yellow and crook-neck squash as well. Spaghetti squash? Keep it in a box or paper bag in a dark location, and, months later, it is just fine and dandy! Same with acron squash, butternut, and other hard, fall and winter squashes. Or you can eat it all or sell it if you really have a bonanza. You can easily fry zucchini...we made up a method to eat the tastiest zucchini by frying it, using milk and carn meal in a deep fryer...we call them "bangers"...vaguely similar to British "bangers" which are fried something-or-other. Not potatoes--those are called "chips". |

Should I create a blog called "Stupid US Government Tricks"? (a pean to Johnny Carson's "stupid dog tricks"). I mean, does anyone not still in grade school actually believe that BS about "big bully Russia's aggression against poor wittle Georgia"? Word from those with more than half a brain is that the US-and-Israel-backed Georgia provoked Russia, which they knew would defend their fellows in South Ossetia, into fighting a war so that Russia would be less able to defend Iran from a planned US/Israeli attack, which is why two new sorties (is that the right word?) of US aircraft carrier/warships is heading to the Persian Gulf. Funny, last I heard, Putin was at the Olympics in Beijing [Note: Putin has returned to Russia Saturday]...as was Bush. Now I DO believe this war is a set up to provoke Russia. But I've said it before and I'll say it again--I will not believe the US is going to war with Iran until it happens. This "US is going to war with Iran" BS has been going on for...what?...three freaking years now? And we are really going to war even though--as even Bill O'Really has pointed out--many US-based multinational corporations have invested in Iran. Even though even Bush is smart enough to know that the US simply doesn't have the troop strength or the money to be involved in a third no-win war. Even though Gates and Mullen are totally opposed to war with Iran, and (the Aggie that he is!) Gates DOES have the power to prevent such a war (for one thing, Gates has the ability to remove Bush from power...I should say Cheney, the man who couldn't shoot straight. His ability comes from being in charge of the military as SecDef. Bush is Commander-in-Chief? As long as Gates lets him be, perhaps.) Finally, we DO KNOW WHO is in control of US financials. The "Illuminati"? Not that usual gang of idiots! No, folks, it is China and Japan. And China and Japan need Iran's petroleum resources. |

As for "poor wittle Georgia"...Georgia's military, thanks to US, is the fastest growing military in the world over the past year. Georgia is a US client state (whereas Russia is freeing itself from oligarchical control...I'm not a Putin fan by any means, but I do applaud Putin's putting the kibosh on his own country's oligarch leeches, and also on the so-called "masters of the universe.") which has been oppressing Russia's South Ossetia buddies (and the Abkhazians), despite the fact that Georgia at one time pledged to allow the Ossetians independence. Yes, I know: Russia's as hypocritical as we are when it comes to the Chechens, who would also like independence. And did anyone at CNN notice that Georgia attacked Russian peacekeepers? Before you get the idea that I support Russia here, let me say I don't have a "dog" in this "fight." It is just the US doing it's "Grand Chessboard" gig...the irony is that we all know how good Russians are at Chess. Right now, it's all psy-ops...but that could change. |

And what else is the alternative news and blogosphere saying? We go from the sublime to the ridiculous to a very interesting analysis by someone who actually understands what Russia is up to. In the first case, Georgia and the US have reached some kind of security pact which, of course, makes Russia paranoid just like--justified, I think--putting weapons "aimed at Iran" in Poland and the Czech Republic makes Putin paraoid. Now, does anyone really think Bush gives a crap about the people of Georgia? A pipeline, maybe... In the second case, Edgar J. Steele, a first-class rant-maester who boasts about how right he is most of the time, claims we are on the verge of WW3. I'd take it seriously except I've heard that so damned many times over the past 30 years that overload has taken hold...or I should say, perspective and proportion. I'll only believe it when I see it. In the third case, Russo-phobe Jeff Nyquist calls it pretty close to the mark: Russia's actions in Georgia prove that Russia is hell-bent on not only breaking off from US influence and "friendship" (and, ultimately, from the "illuminati"--I'd like to see US follow Russia's lead there!), but is also bent on getting revenge on the US for screwing them over in the Yeltsin years...and then there's the matter of Wantagate, which began with Reagan telling Wanta to destroy the ruble, which is leading to Russia's lawsuit against the Mellon bank to recover billions lost in part due to Wanta's scheming. |

And now for something completely unexpected (yeah, I know, you expected me to say, "and now for something completely different," but Monty Python might sue me for copyright infringement!)... Two Israeli researchers have discovered that there is probably a DNA link between Israeli Jews (and this includes the "Khazar" Ashkenazim) and Palestinians! OF COURSE THERE IS! The cool thing is that some Israelis are starting to realize this. But what else would one expect, since "Palestinians" (who are NOT ARABS! ARABIANS ARE ARABS, no?) were once Jews, and some became Christians who then became Muslims, or stayed Christian. You do know that when the Balfour Declaration was signed creating "Palestine" as part of "Trans-Jordan" in the early 20s, there were "Arab" Palestinians there, there were Palestinian Christians there, and there were Palestinian Jews there when the Zionists arrived through the Jewish Agency. And you also know that the Ashkenazim, "Khazar" or not, stem from (when Khazars and other converted to Judaism), must have intermarried with the post-70AD diaspora Jews who converted them. In fact, the Israelis here claimed that evidence shows European Jews have more in common with "Palestinian" "Arabs" than they do with Sephardic Jews from Yemen! Check out this very insightful interview here. |

And speaking of "Khazars," a Jewish writer I respect, Alan Stang, makes a strong case that "Jews-as-Khazars" may be getting a bum rap (and I'll admit I'm guilty of that as well). He even claims not all Zionists are evil, either. I'll give him that...but the fact is that while not all Zionist Jews are evil by a long shot, Zionism, which promotes the evil the settlers in the West Bank are doing whether in the name of the Talmud or not, is still a racist philosophy even if many Zionists aren't racist, personally. But his main point that Jews didn't create all the evil in this world is well taken. Yet, since Rothschild and the rest of the overlords just happen to be Jewish means the Jews will continue to be scapegoated. Not that the Baron gives a crap! |
