On Ron Paul: Playing Devil's Advocate

As I have claimed in several newsletters, and what with posting a link to his presidential campaign website, Ron Paul, 10-term Congressman from the Texas 14th district covering Galveston to Victoria, is my choice to be America's next President. His voting record speaks for itself (and you can go to the following sites to verify it: here, here, or Google "Ron Paul". In short, Ron Paul has consistently voted down spending bills not authorized by laws specified by the US Constitution (that is, all "pork", even for his own district)--hence his sobriequet "Dr. No"--and will vote down anything not authorized in the Constitution, or not done the way the Constitution says needs to be done (which is why he voted against the Iraq War...though Paul is generally non-interventionist, he voted against the resolution authorizing Bush to go to war precisely because Congress had not declared war, as per the Constitution. Now, what the neocons will never admit is that Paul DID authorize US intervention in Afghanistan to capture bin Laden. So it is not as if Paul is a pacifist or "weak on defense"). Paul also wants to abolish the Federal Reserve Bank (which is privately owned by the Rothschilds and others), the IRS, the Department of Education (something Reagan threatened to do), phase out Social Security (not by denying baby boomers like me their due! But he does not want young people like my son to be forced to spend 2/3 of their income financing a bankrupt system, either. That is why he wants to phase out, not abolish, social security, which is nothing but a ponzi scheme which is probably bankrupt now, anyway), and make other reforms...after he, as Commander-in-Chief, gets our troops out of Iraq, Afghanistan, and the over 170 bases world-wide that make up the Empire, and puts them on our (mostly) southern border and ports so that our military can do what the Consitution authorizes it to do: defend the United States! Plus, after he, by executive order, annuls the Patriot Act, Military Commissions Act, and other peices of fascist legislation Bush has railoaded through Congress. If any doubt that Ron Paul intends to restore liberty to America, then you only have to look at his voting record. I believe it is time leftists who think he'll stop gay marriage and adhere to Roe v. Wade and keep women barefoot and pregnant and other nonsense they believe about Paul, just as it is time for righties to stop claiming Paul is "weak on defense" or "soft on al-Qaida" or "is a Democrat in disguise" or "the nutty professor"...it is time for Americans to put aside whatever they think about the war or healthcare or bailing out the hedge funds or whatever and to make the first priority to prevention of the oligarchs from completely destroying the USA and instituting a totalitarian state to deal with the ensuing social upheaval (just as what happened in Germany in the 1930s, which came on the back of the 1923 hyperinflation under the Weimar Republic. Read Shirer's "Rise and Fall of the Third Reich," still the best analysis ever of the comings and goings of Hitler's Germany.)

However, let me play devil's advocate here, because in truth it has occurred to me that Ron Paul just might be too good to be true. I mean, really, his campaign slogan is "Hope for America." His voting record is impeccable. He practices what he preaches...not only does he not accept Medicaid and Medicare from his patients (he is a physician, BTW), he will not accept his Congressional pension and does not accept his Congressional pay, either. Further, he served his country in Korea as a flight surgeon. So, what I am about to say sounds like I just might be clutching at straws, but there IS a possibility that Ron Paul really is too good to be true! For one thing, it is VERY INTERESTING that it is now that he has chosen to run for President. Why not 2004? Why not 2000? Why not 1996? And, though he did run in 1988, he ran as a Libertarian, which guaranteed his effort would be wasted; why didn't he run as a Republican? True, he wasn't experienced, but I don't see that stopping Barak Obama. So, why did he choose 2008 to run for? And that stint in Korea has me wondering, is he some kind of "Manchurian Candidate"? Has he been allowed, all these years, to be an advocate of liberty and restoring the Constitution, all the while under the guidance of some handler who actually works for THEM? Will THEY now unleash him to do THEIR bidding as an new surge in desperate desire to restore liberty, end the war, and return to a sane foreign policy as well as prudent domestic policy overwhelms the American voter, who ernestly believes Paul will do their will? Are THEY setting US up for the greatest disillusionment ever known anywhere, as Paul either will not or can not institute the restoration of liberty? After which, we will demand (and Congress, who hates Paul, will asceed to) he be impeached, and they will do this? Then, after this debacle, we will demand a return to business as usual and oligarchical rule? So, I ask myself, "Is Ron Paul setting us up?"

Paul, BTW, is a sponsor of NESARA, the "National Economic Security and Restoration Act". This is the umbrella that will supposedly restore liberty and financial sense to the USA. Curiously, another sponsor is Dennis "ban guns" Kucinich. I don't know how many bloggers and commentators have advocated a "Paul-Kucinich Unity Ticket" (okay, okay, some want a "Paul-Gravel Unity Ticket"...I could go for that, because what Ron Paul lacks in brevity Mike Gravel can supply in spades. I truly belive we Americans need to stop taking ourselves so damned seriously!), but it is probably in the thousands. But a website caught my eye late Sunday night (which is when I go for the wierd). Someone named Sherry Shriner--the kind of person I could have associated with back in the days when one Michael "El Legion" from (where else?) Southern California did a "reading" for me "channeling Clarion" telling me I was to be some kind of "walk-in" for "the Ashtar Command" led by Ashtar and "Jesus Sananda"!! Rick "Republic of Texas" McLaren was around then and still had a sense of proportion before he became the meglaomaniac he wound up becomong...Rick was the one who brought this "UFO abductee" in to "channel" these various Ashtar Comand folks. My friend Star had a reading where El Legion channeled "Kwan Yin," and another acquaintance...who went insane shortly therafter, Ann... became "the Virgin Mary" (she was Catholic)--claims that Ron Paul is some sort of "walk-in" for "the Ashtar Command's" "program" to bring peace on Earth...after which "the Anti-Christ" (that is, Ashtar Command's "St. Germaine" and "Jesus Sananda") will take over the Earth, "as per Revelation 13." (Read it here at Nesara Sucks; and read about Ron Paul's "perfidy" here at Ron Paul: Too Good to be True). Of course, having as I said above been very loosely involved with this sort of nonsense before, and having studied enough of the Bible to know that Revelation 13 has NOTHING to do with some sort of "alien invasion" (spirits maybe, but aliens? Gimme a break! "X-Files"--my favorite show, BTW--is fiction!), I can easily discount every single word of Shriner's diatribe (in fact I should be ashamed of myself for even giving her any credence at all. Except that there really are those out there who, like El Legion, push this crap. See the Nesara #28 Update, which claims Ron Paul is a member of the Ashtar Command!. If I hadn't known any of these people in my life I would have had trouble sleeping through the laughter! But alas, what if there is any truth to the claims of these nutjobs?)

So that $25 I just sent the Ron Paul campaign may be something I rue later. And, even though I really do think Paul has shot at the Republican nomination at this point, and, yes, a shot at the Presidency, I still think it is more likely that 1) either Bush, due to a so-called "terrorist attack" or financial meltdown and ensuing social upheaval, will cancel the 2008 elections or 2) Bush will make things so intolerable for any Republican that most American voters do in fact vote for Hillary (who absolutely will be the Dem nominee), but not before Ron Paul quits the Repub race to run as an independent (whereby he will take many Repub and Dem votes, but fail to win enough electoral votes) 3) Paul will be American voter choice, but, as happened in the Iowa Staw Poll, the voting machines will do him in, or 4) Paul will win over the voters, then be assassinated.

Before I wind up this newsletter, let me point the reader to a few other interesting articles I've read over the last few days...

Cramer Cracks. By now most must have seen Jim Cramer of CNBC's "Mad Money" show go ballistic over why won't Bill Poole or whoever open the so-called discount window and bail out his Wall Street hedge fund buddies. But, if not, click the link now and treat yourself to his insanity...BTW, I could care less if these parasites lose their shirts! And, for more economic woes, read this story supposedly written during the Great Depression and this article, by a LaRouchite, about the coming hyperinflation (Note: Normally I would discount anything by a LaRouche-ite or any other Trotskyite...I can stand Trots!...but since he is no longer a LaRouchite, maybe there is something to this. In any case, this article I hope perhaps causes the remnant for which I write to consider preparing for the worst while we hope for the best.). Finally, the folks at Smirking Chimp have come up with a good, workable, and practical idea to let our ruling oligarchs know we actually aren't the "sheeple herd slaves" they think we are: a General Strike on September 11, 2007, which is a Tuesday. The purpose of this general strike is simply to NOT SPEND MONEY and to NOT EARN MONEY by not shopping and not working. While we are at it, don't watch TV, listen to i-pod, download music, listen to radio, and while we're at it, no school, either? I don't suppose it would be feasible to ask that Americans keep this up until the end of the Iraq War, now would it?

And now I can say it for sure: Lou Dobbs is nothing but a TOOL with a Capital "T"! Say what you want about his reporting on the "war on the Middle Class" and his "Amnesty" shpiel--Dobbs would rather nuke Iran! Not only that, but how much has the "anti-North American Union/Amero" spokesperson in the MSM had to say about the so-called Security and Prosperity Partnership between America, Canada, and Mexico, which effectively erases borders between the three countries and militarily allows the US to take over the other two? Maybe that is why the oligarchs are allowing the dollar to collapse...but don't depend on their media-stooge Dobbs to tell you! Dobbs is better than most. Still, DO NOT TRUST THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA AT ANY TIME (except for maybe the weather.)

Speaking of dollar collapse, this article explains, in plain English, why this probably will happen...which is just another good reason to get the heck out of the cities and suburbs, because when it does city and suburban society will likely go into upheaval.
