Healthcare Plan? I Don't Need No Stinkin' Healthcare Plan! Plus: Do Not Fall for the Divide and Conquer |
I will get into discussion of ObamaCare in just a few paragraphs, because my take is just a wee bit different than what "most analysts" are saying about it. First, because I am trying to offer practical solutions here, I would say that the best healthcare plan you can have is to watch what food and drink you put into your body, get off the couch or computer chair and get out there and tend to your garden or take a nice long walk (bring water!) or do various low-impact exercises, or go swimming. Believe it or not, your body just might be able to tell you what it needs. |

Whenever we go on a trip to a city large enough to have several good eating places even if there are also places where the extra calories can be worked off, I invariably put on extra weight. I am already a bit overweight to begin with; nothing that seriously threatens health, however. But when a woman passes through menopause but continues to eat goodly portions of food as well as snacks, there is no way one is going to be able to stay fit and trim, period. And you know restaurants. They go from one extreme to the other: either you get half the food you think you're going to get or you get twice the food you think your going to get. And, don't forget--restaurants tend to use MSG, which makes you want to eat more. Finally, when you go to a city that has restaurants you would not normally find out in the desert areas of west Texas--that is, Galveston, and its fresh fish from the Gulf fare--one tends to want to pig out! Thus, when one gets home one knows one has to get it under control. Genetics and predispositions aside which no one has much control over, it really really is important what goes into your body and also what does not go into your body. In fact I don't know what ought to be of more concern: that the govt. wants to tell us how to run our health care, or that the govt. wants to force us to get a vaccine. |
Putting ObamaCare aside for a minute, let's talk about how the govt., if it wishes, will likely force folks to get the ominous H1N1 vaccine which BTW has live H1N1 in it. Folks like Alex Jones would have you believe that martial law troops will line folks up and give them shots, or else be shot...with a gun, that is. Or some such dreaded scenario. But they don't need to resort to that unless the chaos and civil war that will follow is what they are after. All they need to do is mandate that unless one gets the vaccine, one cannot work for any govt. of any kind; cannot collect Social Security and Medicare; cannot use public buildings; cannot go to public school or any school (including private schools and colleges) that take Federal funds; cannot get gun permits; cannot vote; cannot get job trade licenses; cannot travel by airplane, boat, train, etc., and ultimately, cannot buy and sell. Am I sounded Biblical here? |

Just a small "for instance": before our son could get his driver's license, he needed a "social." Because he was home schooled and thus didn't have the public school photo ID, he needed to get a Texas state issued citizen photo ID, because folks you get nothing from the govt. now unless you have a photo ID. At some point when he was about 7 or 8...my memory of the series of events escapes me...he needed vaccinations for some reason. The usual: MMR, Polio, Tetanus. Turns out Texas A & M Galveston would not have admitted him without these shots. Fortunately, he has only had to get the bare minimum and no booster shots. When our daughter first wanted to go to Mitre Peak Girl Scout Camp (where she worked as a junior counselor this summer), she had to submit proof of vaccinations. Fortunately, again she only needed the minimum and no boosters. Public schools, of course, require the maximum, including chicken pox. You get the idea. Unless they want to start riots and whatnot, the govt. will go the typical "gradualism" route with these shots. They will set forth some kind of timeline, after which you are screwed. Kind of like all males having to register for selective service after they turn 18--it must be done before one can get student loans or grants, or to graduate from college. Because folks in the USA really are waking up, the Feds really can't afford to so blatantly "take the velvet glove off the iron fist" as Mark "Michigan Militia" Koernke used to say. |

Now, as to how I plan to make a CONSCIOUS EFFORT to keep healthy: eat only once or twice a day, and eat smaller portions. Cut the snacks. I already walk about a mile a day in the evening, anyway. All I have to do is stick with it. Food will come from the garden and meat as organically prepared (and processed) as possible. Heck, we have all that fish from the Gulf...In other words, I will let my body "tell me" when I need to eat. |

Do Not Fall for the Divide and Conquer |
On the way to and from Galveston to see our son (and catch a huge amount of deep sea fish!), we had the experience of the barrage on left and right radio on the Town Hall meetings over ObamaCare. First I will provide links to various videos and opinion pieces on this, then I will give my take on this whole business. |
Here we have Senator Barbara Boxer saying her Town Hall protesters must be Repub or Ins. Co. shills because they are too well dressed. But would they have been let into the meeting if they were dressed in rags? Here Obama admits his ObamaCare will eventually wipe out private insurance. Here Arlen Specter is asked how the govt. will manage health care when they can't even manage Clunkers for Cash. Here the author states that the only way to bring about liberty is to stop worshipping the state. Here black activists from left to right call on Obama to condemn race-baiting tactics at these meetings. In case you haven't already seen it, here is the famous video of the SEIU union thugs beating up on the black man holding the "Don't Tread on Me" flag. Here is someone responding to accusations of the "angry mob". Here is the WhiteHouse.gov site telling folks to snitch on their neighbors if these neighbors oppose ObamaCare, and here is a related video. In this article, Obama wants his supporters to counter the "angry mobs". Well, I was wrong about AARP when I said in my last newsletter that AARP wouldn't support ObamaCare because of its support for "right to die" issues and what some call a hidden euthanasia agenda. Here are various AARP members getting the BS from AARP reps, and after these reps leave, several absolve to rip up their AARP memberships. Folks, I was pretty sure I would never join AARP--now I'm sure of it!. Here is another "rowdy protester" video. In this video, a protester tells how ACORN/HCAN thugs harrassed him after he left the Town Hall protest. In this video SEIU thugs intimidate protesters at the Town Hall in Tampa. Here is an advertisement for unemployed folks to "get paid" to help pass ObamaCare. Folks, this is precisely what Lenin did after the Bolshevik Rev. in October, 1917--hire the "lumpenproletariat" (the underclass) as thugs to beat up the resisters. And is a Counterpunch article by leftist Dave Lindorff in support of us "right wing whackos" protesting ObamaCare. Apparently a few "progressives" can see what Ed Schultz, Randi Rhodes, Keith Olbermann and others of that ilk can't see: that ObamaCare has the full support of the Pharma lobbies, the drug companies, the health insurance industry, and the rest of the oligarch parasites, and that Big Pharma has made an alliance WITH THE SEIU! Of course, "Single Payer," is not the solution, either. Like the link above says: if the government can barely deliver the mail and can't run the cash for clunkers program (much less win a couple of wars against folks who have been bombed back into the stone age), how can it run health care? and, finally, here is a summation by someone who says he actually read the whole health care bill. Here is another one. I just hope all this isn't TMI! |
Now, as to why I called this newsletter section, "Do not fall for the divide and conquer." Over the airwaves of XM Satellite Radio on America Right and America Left (actually, Air America Radio...interestingly, isn't "Air America" associated with the CIA?), you have the righties like Glenn Beck, Mark Levin, Mike Church etc. calling the ObamaCare supporters "Nazis" (these folks still don't know the difference between "nazis" and "fascists" and "socialists") and, more discerningly, SEIU thugs (you know, "purpleshirts" instead of "brownshirts"...also it turns out that some of these "security" folks are from the New Black Panther Party!). Then you have the lefties calling the protesters angry mobs (derived from the old 90s Clintonian "angry white men"), racists (even with that black protester getting beat up by white SEIU thugs!), and the ever-used-to-be-popular Keith "I really am a Democrat shill" Olbermann calling the protesters "terrorists"! Well, what did anyone expect? This BS was a matter of course and you didn't need to be a rocket scientists to know that this double-headed propaganda show was coming. Now, the protests are great, and I'm fairly sure that while some are protesting being led on by Right Wing Talk Radio, FOX News, and various Republican support groups, many are protesting because they are informing themselves about what the hidden and open costs of ObamaCare could be. I don't know about the "euthaniasia" angle of it, but anyone who doesn't understand that, with the Federal deficits what they are, ObamaCare will come with some sort of rationing isn't paying attention. And IMHO it isn't just the health care bit. Many Americans are just angry, period. Trying to turn this into a "left vs. right" issue is nonsense. As usual, it is not left vs. right but people vs. a corrupt system. |
And, while I don't support ObamaCare because I don't think the government should be telling people how to run the most personal issue in their lives--their health--that doesn't mean I support the health care industry as it is, either. Too much is done solely for profit over proper health care. Too much work is being done promoting medications for bogus health issues like "restless leg syndrome" and "teeth whitening." As long as the system as it is set up does very little to promote proper physical-psychological-emotional well-being, I won't promote it. As long as TV promotes BS health issues and selling exercise machines and ridiculous diet programs on the one hand and eating at McDonalds on the other, I won't support it. As long as selling health on TV means selling mind-altering drugs like Paxil for the bogus "social anxiety disorder" (the "Drugs for Dummies" name for Bi-Polar Disorder at worst and Depression at best) or any number of prescription (Cialis) and non prescription (Enzyte) drugs for "male enhancement" that men and women simply don't need, and other things that didn't become "disorders" until ten years ago (I mean, what did grandma do for "restless leg syndrome"? Probably ate a good diet and exercised!), then I won't support it. In other words, I won't support the Health-Industrial Complex, public or private. I only go to the doctor when I absolutely must. The last time was for a brown recluse spider bite, two years ago. |

To the point: whether or not we get some kind of ObamaCare package with various options to join is not the point with me. If you, the reader, want to join one of these options, fine. It might be better than what you have now or it might be your only recourse for some condition. My only problem with it is that it will likely be the ONLY option! Now I do not have health insurance (I do have dental and vision, however, through my husband's job, plus our son has college sponsored health insurance we pay for). But, other than paying for my migraine medication though Progressive Rx, where I save about 80 percent, I do not at this time need health insurance! I am not planning on needing health insurance even when I turn 65 (and, if possible, have no plans to apply for Medicare until the last resort health crisis hits...quite frankly, I'd rather rely on God!). It is not the plan but the "mandatory" nature of what seems to be in the plan, that irks me. When govt. forces something on you, you know it means trouble. |
There are folks all over the internet with good as well as horror stories about Socialized Medicine in Britain, Canada, and elsewhere, for you to read. I don't care if you support some sort of govt. sponsored plan ot not, single payer or what Obama is proposing (which is eerily similar to what Hillary proposed, that is, it is backed by the oligarchs and their profit above all else motivation). All I am saying is that one must look cautiously at anything the govt. puts its hands on and wants to force down our throats. I will leave it to the reader to discern some sort of hidden agenda. |
And, oh yeah! We simply cannot afford it! Last I saw, the Federal Government is a few trillion in the hole, and there are states like California that can't even pay their employees in fiat currency, using "IOUs" instead. Guys, the govt. cannot keep on printing up this "money" out of thin air indefinitely. |
